On perfect Spring day in a perfect valley near Port Douglas, Anita and Brad were married in their backyard.
Even though they have only lived there 2 years, Brad has worked his magic and their garden is divine.
With lots of little extras for their wedding day.
It was a very intimate and relaxed wedding, with the lovely Sarah Woods as celebrant.
The guests and Brad waited under a tree…
for Anita to arrive, trailing fairies…
who came across the bridge and happily declared in surprise, “Yay!! Daddy’s here!!”
The ceremony was very simple and very sweet – just two people declaring their love.
And fairies bearing rings.
Brad and Anita also have a bohdi fig to plant, also known as a Sacred Fig, with heart shaped leaves, under which Buddha achieved enlightenment.
And there were bubbles too!
We had to round up the fairies, replace wings on shoulders and wreaths on heads and get some shots before they all came off again.
Meanwhile…. well it was Grand Final Day, and they weren’t watching until after the ceremony.
Fairy wings were off again, guests were happy with canapes and drinks, Anita, Brad and I went down the road and spent some time in the perfect afternoon light.
It was an absolutely beautiful wedding.
